SHORT BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Dr. Agnimitra Biswas did his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College Silchar in 2001, M.Tech in Thermal Engineering from National Institute of Technology Silchar in 2007, and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Silchar in 2010. Presently he is working as an Associate Professor in ME Department, NIT Silchar since August 2022. He has more than 16 years of teaching and research experiences. His current research areas include vertical axis wind turbines, micro hydro-turbines, hybrid renewable energy systems, and solar thermal energy and solar passive systems. He has published more than 100 research papers till date in various referred national/international journals and conferences and has 2 patents to his credit. He is an associate member of The Institution of Engineers (India). He was the principal investigator of Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) sponsored solar regional test center at NIT Silchar. He had won Best Research award in Wind Energy for 2021, conferred by IREDA-NIWE, and an Outstanding Reviewer Award 2021, Conferred by International Journal of Green Energy. He is currently an Associate Editor in the section Wind Energy of Frontiers in Energy Research journal.
