SHORT BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Dr. Binita Nath completed her B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Jorhat Engineering College in 2010, M. Tech in Thermal Engineering from NIT Silchar in 2013 and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Guwahati in 2019. After obtaining her doctoral degree, she pursued her post-doctoral research at National Research Council, Rome, Italy for the period of January 2020 to September 2021. Apart from academic experience, she also has industrial
experience working as a GET in Mahindra Engineering Services for the period September 2010 to June 2011 and also as a Product Engineer in Cummins India Limited for the period September 2013 to January 2014. While being in Italy, she was also teaching online as a guest faculty to the postgraduate students of the Mechanical Engineering Department of NIT Mizoram from Oct 2020 to June 2021. At present, she is working as an Assistant Professor Grade II in the Mechanical Engineering Department at NIT Silchar. Her areas of research include computational as well as experimental investigations in the broad domains of multiphase flows, droplet dynamics, biological flows, cancer cell as well as sperm cell hydrodynamics. She has published several papers in reputed journals and presented in numerous national as well as international conferences. Additionally, she is a recipient of the prestigious DST INSA Inspire Faculty Fellowship-2021.
