SHORT BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Dr. Kalyan Chakraborty obtained a B.E. degree in mechanical engineering from Regional Engineering College, Durgapur, under Burdwan University in 1984, an MTech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in 1988, and a PhD in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in 1996. He has been serving at this institution since 1984. Presently, he is serving as an associate professor. He has written a number of journal papers and presented a number of papers at various national and international conferences. Based on one of his recent publications, he has been awarded a Quarterly Franklin Membership (London Journal Press) for 2019. Dr. Chakraborty also received letters of appreciation from chief authors/editors of publishing houses abroad during 2018–2019 for his other international paper. 990 views were reported by ScienceDirect (Elsevier) during 2009–2020, considering his publications. 26 citations were found (Scopus, ELSEVIER). Dr. Chakraborty recently (2020) received honorary Rosalind (quarterly) membership of the London Journal Press on the basis of a published paper. The paper was highly appreciated by the chief author (LJER). Dr. Chakraborty received a recommendation letter for the publication of a book based on his newly published paper during May–June 2020 from the editor. Recently, he reviewed the table of contents of Groover’s “Fundamentals of Modern Manufacturing. Dr. Chakraborty recently received a letter of appreciation from the managing director, Elsevier Journals, in connection with the newly published papers (SCOPUS) (ELSEVIER) (2023), as per the following part quotation: “Publishing academic research is a significant achievement, and your dedication to this endeavor does not go unnoticed.
