SHORT BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
A national scholarship holder and a Ph.D. from IIT Delhi, prof. Rajat Gupta, 1959 born, has been a professor in the department of mechanical engineering at NIT Silchar since 1996. Presently he is a professor (HAG) and president of IIC, NIT Silchar. In between he served as the Director of NIT Srinagar, J&K, NIT Mizoram and NIT Silchar. He has produced 14Ph.Ds and many M.Tech students. Presently six Ph.D scholars are working under him. He has published more than 200 papers in national /international journals and conferences. He chaired many conferences in India and abroad and delivered key note addresses . His research areas include among others, thermo fluids, non-conventional energy CFD etc. He was bestowed with many awards like Education Leadership award, Rajiv Gandhi Education Excellence award, Eminent Engineering Personality by IEI. He also served as the chairman, Mizoram State Centre of institute of Engineers, India.
