Silchar is well connected with various cities through road. A 326 km long National Highway directly connects Silchar with Guwahati. A large number of day/night buses ply between Guwahati and Silchar in the morning and evening every day. After you arrive at ISBT-Silchar, you could take a taxi to NIT Campus (fare approx. Rs. 200-250).

Silchar has a direct rail link with Lumding/Guwahati. Many daily train services run between Silchar and Lumding. The campus is around 10 km from the Silchar railway station. The preferred mode of transportation to the NIT campus is auto-rickshaw (fare approx. Rs. 200).

Airways

There are daily direct flights to Silchar from cities like Kolkata, Guwahati, etc. Many Airways operate flights from Kolkata to Silchar/Guwahati. From the airport, the Institute campus is approximately 35 km. Hired private taxi service is available from the airport. The full taxi hire charge to the NIT campus is approximately Rs. 700 to Rs. 750.
