Dr. Sudip Dey received Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (B.M.E) degree from Jadavpur University and Post graduate diploma in management. He received Ph.D. in Engineering degree from Jadavpur University. Worked in industries like Siemens, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd., Pipal Research Corporation. Post doctoral research and teaching experience from Swansea University, UK and Leibniz-Institut für Polymerforschung Dresden e. V., Germany. His name is enlisted as World’s Top 2% Researchers & Scientists by Elsevier and Stanford UniversityHe pioneered research work on Uncertainty Quantification (UQ), stochastic mode shapes. His research interests start from classical mechanics to Quantum mechanics and Innovation to Design promoting multi-disciplinary areas encircling the domains from Engineering to applied science. He pioneered research work on Uncertainty Quantification, stochastic mode shapes. His research outcomes are published in world-class reputed journals (Elsevier, Wiley, IOP, Sage, ASME, Taylor & Francis and Springer), conferences and books. His book on UQ entitled Uncertainty quantification in laminated composites : A meta-model based approach (CRC Press) is globally recommended. He is a regular reviewer of prestigious reputed journals of Elsevier, Wiley, IOP, Sage, ASME, Taylor & Francis and Springer. He pioneered and introduced globally first the subject Uncertainty Quantification (ME 483) as the course, which is conducted at Undergraduate level as elective subject at NIT Silchar. He nurtures innovation and creativity dealing with solution to the practical problems of our society. His research area includes molecular dynamics, uncertainty quantification, tribology of bearing, metamaterials, digital twin, advanced multi-functional composites dealing with novel aspects of mechanics, design, materials, and structures.
