Short Biographical Sketch

Dr. Sumit Bhowmik received his B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tripura Engineering College (now known as NIT Agartala) under Tripura University, M.M.E. degree in Machine Design specialization from Jadavpur University. He has done his Ph.D. from Jadavpur University. He joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in National Institute of Technology Silchar in January 2013. He also worked as a faculty in Tripura Engineering College and Asansol Engineering College. He published more than 60 no. of SCI journal papers in different repute journals and was the author of 03 no. of textbooks and 03 number of Patents. He also published no. of conference papers and book chapters. Eight (08) number of research scholars and Twenty (20) number of PG students successfully completed their research work under his supervision and 03 no. of research scholars working under supervision now. His work is also funded by the DST, CPRI, KVIC.
